What is Vacuum Casting?

Vacuum casting is an additive process that uses vacuum casting technology to extract air from a closed area to produce molds, cast castings, or melt metals with complex and difficult properties, enabling efficient manufacturing of cast components.

Vacuum Casting Tolerances

Tolerance:±0.15mm. The maximum volume:2000*1200*1000mm

Precision size: Locating Hole ±0.2mm, Mounting Hole ±0.4mm

The parts can reach the durability requirements of a 10,000km Road Test.

Vacuum Casting Service Overview

What is the Vacuum Casting Process?

Step 1:Master building
A silicon form is placed into a vacuum chamber filled with polyurethane. During this process, the silicon mold stays in a constant heating chamber, then warms up to 60-70℃ and then deforms, and solidification is executed in the next procedures.

Step 2: Make the mold and parts
The vacuum sucks out any air trapped inside the silicon form, ensuring no air bubbles in the manufacturing. Also, gas vents are digging during this procession. Considering the complexity of the prototype, generally, each silicon form can produce 10 to 20 pieces.

Step 3: Surface Finish
KAIAO focuses on every detail to provide the best services and perfect products to clients, so finishing making includes polishing, silk screening, laser etching, chrome plating, and more. And this allows the production of high-quality, complex prototypes for numerous purposes, such as functionality tests.

Vacuum casting is best for making visually impressive prototypes, but it can also be used for non-mechanical end-use parts like cases and covers.

The silicone molds used in vacuum casting have a short lifespan, typically around 20 moldings, so we dispose of them after use.
